KRC0434

KUKA Robot KRC0434 - OPERATOR CONTROL UNIT DISABLED

OPERATOR CONTROL UNIT DISABLED

The command cannot be executed because the operator control unit mode settings do not satisfy the required operational safety conditions. The appropriate mode must be active on the issuing control device (KCP, RCP, stationary pendant, or external host computer) to authorize the requested command execution.

Common Causes

  • Stationary KCP or RCP is in T1 or T2 mode when AUT (automatic) mode is required for the command
  • Nonstationary KUKA smartPAD is in AUT mode when only T1 (teach run low speed) or T2 (teach run high speed) modes are permitted
  • External host computer interface is not in EXT (external) mode when sending commands via socket communication or OPC-UA
  • Multiple operator control units are active simultaneously with conflicting mode requirements
  • Safety key on the control unit is not properly inserted or activated for the required mode transition

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Identify which control unit issued the command and check its current mode display on the control panel
  2. 2Switch the active KCP or KUKA smartPAD to the required mode: AUT for RCP/stationary units, T1/T2 for portable units, or EXT for host computers
  3. 3Verify the safety key position matches the intended operational mode and is fully engaged in the keyway
  4. 4Review the KRL program to confirm which mode restrictions apply to the specific command being executed
  5. 5Check for mode conflicts between multiple connected control units using the device management interface in WorkVisual
  6. 6If mode switching is restricted by safety parameters, consult the SafeOperation configuration to determine if safety release is required
