KUKA Robot KRC0432 - STOP DUE TO NODE SWITCHOVER

STOP DUE TO NODE SWITCHOVER

A node switchover event has been detected during execution of traversing key commands or program execution on the KRC4 controller. This occurs when the robot system switches between different processing nodes or control nodes while a motion command is actively being processed, causing program execution to be interrupted.

Common Causes

  • Redundant KRC4 controller failover occurred during program execution due to primary node failure
  • Manual node selection was changed via the KUKA smartPAD while traversing keys were being pressed
  • Network communication loss between primary and secondary KRC4 nodes triggered automatic switchover
  • Controller power supply fluctuation caused momentary node reinitialization during active motion
  • Safety system node (SafeOperation module) underwent synchronization while motion was commanded

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Stop all robot motion immediately and check the KRC4 controller status lights for node switching indicators
  2. 2Review the system event log in the KUKA smartPAD diagnostics menu to identify the exact switchover timestamp
  3. 3Verify network connectivity between primary and secondary controller nodes using ping diagnostics
  4. 4Check power supply voltage and current draw during operation to rule out electrical instability
  5. 5If using redundant controllers, ensure both nodes are properly synchronized using the node synchronization utility in WorkVisual
  6. 6Reset the affected node and perform a controlled restart sequence rather than using emergency stop to prevent future switchover triggers
