KUKA Robot KRC0431 - SELECTION NOT ALLOWED

SELECTION NOT ALLOWED

This alarm occurs when the KRC controller attempts to select or jump to a program block that does not exist in the currently loaded program file. The controller cannot execute a GOTO, CALL, or selection command that references a non-existent label or block number, halting program execution to prevent undefined behavior.

Common Causes

  • Typo or incorrect spelling in GOTO label or block reference name
  • Referenced block or label was deleted from the program but the call statement was not updated
  • Attempting to jump to a block in a different program file without proper program structure
  • Case sensitivity mismatch in label names (KUKA labels are case-sensitive)
  • Corrupted or incomplete program file that is missing expected subroutine blocks

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the program source code to verify all GOTO, CALL, and selection command target labels exist and are spelled correctly
  2. 2Check for case sensitivity issues in label names and ensure they match exactly as defined in the program
  3. 3Open the complete program file in the KUKA WorkVisual IDE or KRC editor and search for the referenced block name
  4. 4Verify that the program file was saved completely and not corrupted by reloading or recompiling the source code
  5. 5If using modular programs, ensure all called subroutines and external files are properly linked and available in the project
  6. 6Clear the alarm, correct the block reference or label name in the source code, and reload the program to the controller
