KRC0323

KUKA Robot KRC0323 - BUFFER BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW **

BUFFER BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW **

The backup battery voltage in the KRC4 controller has fallen below the minimum threshold required to preserve volatile memory and system state data. The controller must remain powered until the battery recharges to prevent data loss and potential system corruption.

Common Causes

  • Extended power loss or repeated restart cycles draining the backup battery
  • Battery age exceeding typical 5-7 year lifespan resulting in reduced capacity
  • Defective or failed backup battery module requiring replacement
  • Faulty charging circuit preventing proper battery recharge during normal operation
  • Continuous operation without adequate mains power supply to recharge the battery

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Do not power down the controller immediately; allow continuous mains power supply to recharge the backup battery
  2. 2Monitor battery voltage recovery over 30-60 minutes through Diagnostic > Power Supply menu on smartPAD
  3. 3Verify that the controller is connected to stable mains power with proper voltage levels
  4. 4Check battery connector inside the control cabinet for loose or corroded contacts
  5. 5Schedule replacement of the backup battery module if voltage does not recover within 2 hours
  6. 6After battery recovery or replacement, perform a cold restart and verify alarm clears
