KRC0324

KUKA Robot KRC0324 - ACKN. RDW <axis number> BOOT UP FAILURE

ACKN. RDW <axis number> BOOT UP FAILURE

The RDW servo drive module for the specified axis failed to boot properly during system initialization. This secondary acknowledgment alarm indicates that the primary RDW BOOT UP FAILURE status message requires corrective action before robot operation can resume.

Common Causes

  • RDW power supply module experiencing insufficient voltage or power delivery to the axis drive
  • Firmware corruption or incompatible firmware version on the RDW servo module
  • Damaged communication cable between KRC4 master controller and RDW axis drive
  • RDW module hardware failure such as capacitor degradation or component damage
  • Incorrect axis configuration parameters in KRC4 system configuration files

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Power cycle the complete robot system including KRC4 and all peripheral modules
  2. 2Check all power and communication cables connected to the RDW module for the affected axis
  3. 3Verify RDW firmware version matches the KRC4 controller firmware level using WorkVisual diagnostics
  4. 4Inspect RDW module for visible damage, burned components, or swelling capacitors
  5. 5Reset RDW module configuration to factory defaults through WorkVisual if available
  6. 6Contact KUKA service if hardware failure is suspected or firmware update does not resolve the boot failure
