KRC0245

KUKA Robot KRC0245 - STOPPED <axis number>

STOPPED <axis number>

The specified axis has moved outside the standstill detection window defined by the positioning and stillness tolerance parameters. This alarm indicates unwanted axis drift or movement that exceeds the machine data settling criteria for the axis.

Common Causes

  • Mechanical load on the axis causing creep or drift outside the $IN_STILL_MA standstill window
  • Brake holding force insufficient for the payload mass on a vertical axis
  • Encoder noise or resolver signal degradation causing false position deviation readings
  • Machine data positioning window $IN_POS_MA set too tight relative to actual settling behavior
  • External force or vibration applied to the robot disturbing the axis from the standstill threshold

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Check the current values of $IN_POS_MA and $IN_STILL_MA in the machine data using KUKA smartPAD
  2. 2Manually move the affected axis and release it, then observe if it drifts beyond the tolerance window
  3. 3Inspect the mechanical brake on the axis for wear and verify holding force is adequate for the load
  4. 4Check encoder cable connections and perform signal integrity diagnostics from the KRC4 controller interface
  5. 5Gradually increase the $IN_STILL_MA tolerance window by 10-20 percent increments until the alarm no longer occurs
  6. 6If mechanical drift persists, perform brake maintenance or adjustment through the KUKA service protocol
