An EMT (Easy Manual Teaching) mastering operation included a check run for a tool whose mass properties have not been previously learned or registered in the system. The control system requires tool weight data to calculate proper dynamics and collision detection parameters during mastering.

Common Causes

  • Tool weight learning procedure in SafeOperation was not completed before initiating EMT mastering sequence
  • Tool identification mismatch where mastering references a different tool than the one currently installed
  • Tool database entry deleted or corrupted in the KRC4 controller configuration files
  • Multiple tools configured with identical names causing system to reference incorrect tool mass data
  • SafeOperation tool weight learning procedure executed with zero payload resulting in invalid mass value

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Access SafeOperation tool configuration menu and verify the tool currently mounted is listed in the tool database
  2. 2If tool is missing, execute the tool weight learning procedure by following KUKA smartPAD guided SafeOperation wizard
  3. 3Confirm the learned tool weight matches the actual installed tool mass within plus or minus 0.5 kg tolerance
  4. 4Clear any pending EMT mastering operations and restart the process after tool learning is successfully completed
  5. 5If tool data is corrupted, delete the tool entry and re-create it with proper identification and weight parameters
  6. 6Perform a complete SafeOperation configuration backup in WorkVisual before proceeding with mastering operations
