KRC0252

KUKA Robot KRC0252 - WORKING ENVELOPE SURVEILLANCE CAN ONLY BE OVERRIDDEN IN T1 MODE

WORKING ENVELOPE SURVEILLANCE CAN ONLY BE OVERRIDDEN IN T1 MODE

This alarm indicates that an attempt was made to modify the $WBOXDISABLE variable while the robot controller was operating in T2, AUT (Automatic), or EXT (External) mode. The working envelope surveillance (work area boundary box) safety feature can only be disabled or reconfigured when the controller is in T1 (Teach) mode for security and safety reasons.

Common Causes

  • Operator or program attempted to set $WBOXDISABLE during automatic production run
  • Remote program execution tried to disable working envelope monitoring without switching to T1 mode first
  • Incorrect mode selection before executing initialization or diagnostic scripts that modify $WBOXDISABLE
  • External automation system sending commands to disable work envelope box in non-T1 mode
  • Legacy program or script containing $WBOXDISABLE assignments without proper mode gating logic

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify the current controller operating mode on the teach pendant - confirm it is T1 (Teach) before proceeding
  2. 2Review the program or script that triggered this alarm and locate all instances of $WBOXDISABLE variable assignments
  3. 3Switch the controller to T1 mode using the mode selector switch on the pendant if attempting to modify working envelope settings
  4. 4Ensure any external or automated processes that need to modify $WBOXDISABLE include logic to verify T1 mode or request mode change first
  5. 5Check the KRC program syntax and add mode verification conditionals before $WBOXDISABLE modifications if required
  6. 6Clear the alarm by pressing the reset button on the teach pendant, then retry the operation in T1 mode
