KUKA Robot KRC0248 - DATA EXCHANGE WITH TEPRO MISSING

DATA EXCHANGE WITH TEPRO MISSING

The SBC (Single Board Computer) is failing to transmit cyclic TEPRO (Technological Process) data to the KRC4 controller within the required cycle time. This communication interruption prevents proper synchronization between the robot control system and the process interface, potentially causing motion inconsistencies or safety violations.

Common Causes

  • Ethernet cable disconnection or intermittent contact between SBC and KRC4 control cabinet
  • SBC operating system crash or service process termination on the embedded Linux system
  • Network congestion or excessive latency exceeding the TEPRO cycle time requirement
  • Corrupted or outdated TEPRO interface configuration in WorkVisual project files
  • Insufficient CPU resources or real-time scheduling priority issues on the SBC

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify physical Ethernet connection between SBC and KRC4 is seated properly and check cable integrity
  2. 2Power cycle the complete robot system including the SBC to reset network communication stack
  3. 3Review TEPRO cycle time settings in WorkVisual and compare against actual SBC processing capabilities
  4. 4Check SBC system logs using SSH access to identify service failures or kernel-level issues
  5. 5Reload the WorkVisual project onto the KRC4 and verify TEPRO interface configuration is correctly deployed
  6. 6If issue persists, contact KUKA service to perform SBC firmware update or perform hardware replacement
