KUKA Robot KRC0201 - KCP Deadman Switch Released

KCP Deadman Switch Released

KCP deadman switch released indicates the enabling switch was released during active robot motion in T1 or T2 mode operation. Robot motion immediately stops and all pending commands are blocked until the enabling switch is re-engaged.

Common Causes

  • Operator released enabling switch due to fatigue or hand position adjustment during teach
  • Enabling switch mechanical switch contact failure or debounce timing issue in KCP hardware
  • Accidental contact with switch guard or debris lodged against switch mechanism
  • KCP firmware not registering continuous switch state due to electrical noise filtering
  • Training procedure not emphasizing continuous switch engagement requirement in SafeOperation

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Press and hold the enabling switch firmly while observing indicator light confirmation
  2. 2Verify enabling switch mechanical action with audible click and tactile feedback response
  3. 3Clean enabling switch contact area and surrounding KCP surface from debris or dust accumulation
  4. 4Check KCP firmware version for known enabling switch detection timing issues
  5. 5Confirm operator training on continuous switch engagement during T1 and T2 mode operation
  6. 6If switch remains intermittent, replace KCP unit and perform SafeOperation certification testing
