KUKA Robot KRC0142 - MORE THAN ONE CALIBRATION FILE AVAILABLE

MORE THAN ONE CALIBRATION FILE AVAILABLE

This alarm indicates that the KRC controller has detected multiple calibration files in the system directories, preventing automatic selection of the correct calibration parameters. The controller cannot determine which calibration file should be loaded, as proper robot operation requires a single, valid calibration file to be present and designated as active.

Common Causes

  • Multiple calibration files (.cal or .xml) exist in the calibration directory without a clearly defined primary file
  • Calibration files were manually copied or duplicated during maintenance or software updates without proper cleanup
  • Incomplete or failed previous calibration procedure left residual calibration files in the system
  • Backup calibration files were not removed from the active calibration directory
  • File system corruption or migration resulted in duplicate calibration data

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Navigate to the calibration file directory on the KRC controller (typically $KUKAHOME/Calibration/ or similar path depending on KRC version)
  2. 2Identify all calibration files present and document their creation dates and sizes to determine which is the correct active file
  3. 3Verify the correct calibration file by cross-referencing with robot documentation or maintenance records
  4. 4Rename or move all obsolete calibration files to a backup directory to leave only the valid calibration file
  5. 5Perform a controller warm restart or cold restart to reload the single calibration file
  6. 6Verify alarm clears and monitor robot behavior during initial movements to confirm correct calibration is loaded
