KRC0069

KUKA Robot KRC0069 - <axis> DECOUPLED AUXILIARY AXIS

<axis> DECOUPLED AUXILIARY AXIS

This alarm indicates that an auxiliary axis has become decoupled from the main robot controller, meaning the axis is no longer synchronized or communicating properly with the KRC control system. This typically occurs when an auxiliary axis loses its connection, encoder feedback, or power supply, causing it to operate independently from the coordinated motion commands sent by the controller. The robot cannot guarantee safe synchronized motion when an auxiliary axis is decoupled.

Common Causes

  • Loose or damaged encoder cable connection on the auxiliary axis
  • Power supply failure or voltage dropout to the auxiliary axis drive
  • Encoder feedback signal loss due to cable break or connector corrosion
  • Auxiliary axis servo drive malfunction or controller board failure
  • Incorrect auxiliary axis configuration or missing calibration parameters in the robot program

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Stop the robot immediately and check the physical connections of the decoupled auxiliary axis encoder and power cables at both the axis and controller terminals
  2. 2Verify that the auxiliary axis servo drive has proper power supply voltage and check for any fault indicators on the drive display panel
  3. 3Inspect encoder cables for damage, moisture, or corrosion; reseat all connectors firmly and test with a multimeter if necessary
  4. 4Access the KRC teach pendant and navigate to Diagnosis > Axes to verify that the auxiliary axis is being detected and communicating with the controller
  5. 5Check the auxiliary axis configuration in the robot's system data and ensure the axis is properly enabled in the kinematics and I/O settings
  6. 6Perform an axis reset by powering down the controller, waiting 30 seconds, then powering back up; if the alarm persists, contact KUKA service for encoder or drive replacement
