HEIDENHAIN 2A9-0002 - Incorrect tool data
Alarm 2A9-0002 occurs when the TNC's 3-D simulation graphics engine encounters invalid or corrupted tool geometry data in the tool table. This typically results from incorrect tool radius/length values, missing tool type definitions, or corrupted tool table entries that prevent proper graphical representation.
HEIDENHAIN 2A9-0002 - Incorrect tool data
Incorrect tool data
The 3-D simulation graphic cannot process the current tool data. This typically occurs when tool parameters are incorrectly defined or incompatible with the simulation requirements.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 2A9-0002 occurs when the TNC's 3-D simulation graphics engine encounters invalid or corrupted tool geometry data in the tool table. This typically results from incorrect tool radius/length values, missing tool type definitions, or corrupted tool table entries that prevent proper graphical representation.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Access Tool Table
Press TOOL TABLE softkey, then select the active tool number causing the alarm.
Check the status line for the specific tool number referenced when alarm occurred
Verify Tool Geometry
Check R (radius) and L (length) columns for negative values, zero radius on milling tools, or unrealistic dimensions exceeding 999.999mm.
Never enter negative radius values for cutting tools
Correct Tool Data
Enter valid positive values for tool radius and length. For turning tools, radius can be 0.000.
Use TOOL DEF function in programming mode to verify tool geometry matches physical tool
Reset Simulation
Press RESET + START to clear alarm and restart 3-D simulation with corrected tool data.
