HEIDENHAIN 140-0005 - Data object not complete
This alarm is triggered when the TNC control detects that a required data object—such as a configuration file, table, or system parameter set—lacks mandatory information or has structural integrity issues. The control cannot proceed with the operation requiring this data until the object is completed or restored to a valid state.
HEIDENHAIN 140-0005 - Data object not complete
Data object not complete
A configuration object in a parameter file is incomplete, with one or more attributes missing. This often happens after manual editing or when loading data from an older software version.
Root Cause Summary
This alarm is triggered when the TNC control detects that a required data object—such as a configuration file, table, or system parameter set—lacks mandatory information or has structural integrity issues. The control cannot proceed with the operation requiring this data until the object is completed or restored to a valid state.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Identify the Affected Configuration File
Read the alarm message carefully to identify '%1' (object type) and '%2' (object name). Common examples include 'SYS', 'CFG', or specific machine parameter files. Press the Help key on the alarm for additional detail if available.
Write down the exact '%1' and '%2' values as they precisely identify which configuration component needs attention.
Access System File Directory
Press MOD key (may require switching operating mode to Programming and Editing), select 'File Management', navigate to TNC:\system\ directory and locate the file identified in the alarm message.
Only modify system files if you have proper backup and understand the consequences. Incorrect changes can render the control inoperable.
Check File Integrity
Verify file size is not zero bytes and check the date/time stamp for anomalies. Compare with backup files or documentation to identify missing sections. Use the TNC editor to open and inspect the file structure.
Machine parameter files should have consistent structure with all MP numbers sequentially defined. Missing MP entries or truncated files indicate incomplete data.
Restore from Backup or Rebuild
If backup exists, use MOD > System Setup > Restore to reload the configuration file. If no backup, contact machine tool builder for original configuration files or use Heidenhain Configuration Editor (TNCconf) to rebuild the configuration file.
Always maintain backup copies of all .SYS, .CFG, and machine parameter files on external media after any successful configuration change.
