HEIDENHAIN 126-0133 - Too many CC/UxC devices connected. Current:; permit- ted

Too many CC/UxC devices connected. Current:; permit- ted

An excessive number of CC, UEC, or UMC modules are linked to the HSCI bus, surpassing the system limit. The current count exceeds what the firmware allows for this device category.

Root Cause Summary

This alarm is triggered by a mismatch between the number of CC/UxC motion control devices physically connected or detected on the HSCI bus and the maximum quantity permitted by the control's license or hardware configuration. The control enforces strict limits on the number of motion control modules, and exceeding this limit prevents operation until the configuration is corrected or the license is upgraded.

Safety

  • Refer to Heidenhain service manual
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

    Check current license scope

Press MOD key, select 'System Info' → 'Options' or 'License Information'. Document the permitted number of CC/UxC axes shown in the license details.

License information may show 'CC axes: X' or 'UxC modules: X' depending on control generation. Write down the exact permitted quantity.

  2. 2

    Compare with detected devices

The alarm message shows 'Current: %1; permitted: %2'. Compare %1 (detected devices) with %2 (licensed devices). If %1 > %2, you have a licensing shortfall.

On iTNC 530 and TNC 620/640 controls, %2 reflects both hardware capability and license restrictions—the lower limit applies.

  3. 3

    Obtain license upgrade

Contact the machine tool builder or Heidenhain service with control serial number and required number of CC/UxC axes. Request license upgrade file (typically .LIC or .KEY file).

Never attempt to modify license files manually or use unauthorized license sources—this will corrupt the control software.

  4. 4

    Install new license

Load the new license file via MOD → 'System Setup' → 'Load License' or through TNCguide service software. Restart the control to activate the new license scope.

Keep a backup copy of all license files on USB storage—they are tied to control serial number and cannot be regenerated without factory authorization.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·HSCI hardware damage suspected
  • ·Parameter corruption persists after restoration
  • ·Multiple HSCI devices showing communication errors

Prevention

  • Always update machine parameters when adding HSCI devices
  • Maintain current equipment inventory documentation
  • Regular backup of machine parameters
  • Verify HSCI bus termination during maintenance

Common Mistakes

  • Adding hardware without parameter updates
  • Incorrect HSCI bus termination
  • Restoring incompatible parameter backups
  • Ignoring HSCI topology requirements
