Haas Alarm 1301 - Spindle Bearing Temp
Haas Alarm 1301 fires when the spindle bearing temperature sensor exceeds the threshold set in parameter 236 (typically 60-70°C). The NGC control continuously monitors the thermistor/RTD in the spindle housing and triggers this protective alarm to prevent catastrophic bearing failure.
Haas Alarm 1301 - Spindle Bearing Temp
Spindle Bearing Temp
This alarm triggers when the thermistor or RTD sensor embedded in the front or rear spindle bearing detects temperature exceeding the programmed limit (typically 80-85 degrees Celsius). The sensor connects to the MOCON board which continuously monitors bearing temperature during operation. The machine will halt spindle rotation immediately to prevent catastrophic bearing failure and spindle seizure.
Root Cause Summary
Haas Alarm 1301 fires when the spindle bearing temperature sensor exceeds the threshold set in parameter 236 (typically 60-70°C). The NGC control continuously monitors the thermistor/RTD in the spindle housing and triggers this protective alarm to prevent catastrophic bearing failure.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Check Air Blast System
Verify air blast is functioning by checking air pressure at spindle housing. Should be 80-100 PSI minimum.
Listen for air flow sound during spindle operation - should be consistent and strong
Inspect Coolant Lines
Check coolant lines to spindle housing for blockages or kinks. Verify coolant pump operation and flow rate.
Ensure machine is powered down before disconnecting coolant lines
Clean Air Passages
Remove spindle housing covers and blow out air passages with compressed air. Check for debris blocking cooling fins.
Use low pressure air (30 PSI max) to avoid damaging temperature sensor wiring
