Fanuc Alarm PS000 - Power Off Required
Alarm PS000 occurs when parameters designated as power-off required (PWE bit pattern) have been modified and the changes cannot take effect until the CNC controller is power cycled. This is a protective mechanism ensuring critical system parameters are properly initialized during boot sequence with modified values.
Fanuc Alarm PS000 - Power Off Required
Please Turn Off Power
Parameters requiring power-off were modified. Turn off power and restart the machine for changes to take effect.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm PS000 occurs when parameters designated as power-off required (PWE bit pattern) have been modified and the changes cannot take effect until the CNC controller is power cycled. This is a protective mechanism ensuring critical system parameters are properly initialized during boot sequence with modified values.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Navigate to SYSTEM > PARAM screen and verify which parameters were recently modified. Look for parameters with '#' symbol indicating power-off required status. Common PWE parameters include P1020 (axis number), P1815 (stored stroke check), P4000-4005 (serial spindle), P900-910 (I/O Link).
Record all modified parameter numbers and new values for documentation. Cross-reference with parameter manual to confirm settings are correct before power cycle.
Ensure machine is in safe position with all axes parked and spindle stopped. Clear all workpiece and tooling from work envelope if axis configuration changes were made.
Do not power cycle during active machining operations or with workpiece loaded if axis/servo parameters were changed
Turn CNC control power OFF using main circuit breaker or E-Stop, wait minimum 10 seconds for capacitor discharge, then power ON. Verify alarm clears and check DIAGNOSIS > PARAMETER screen to confirm new values are active. Test axis movement and machine functionality after restart.
