Fanuc Alarm 326 - LAST BLOCK OF SHAPE PROGRAM IS DIRECT DRAWING DIMENSIONS

PROGRAM ALARM 326

A command for direct input of drawing dimensions in the last block of a shape program for G70-G73 is terminated in the middle.

Root Cause Summary

Fanuc Alarm 326 occurs when a shape definition program using direct drawing dimension input (G70-G73 canned cycles) has an incomplete or improperly terminated command in the final block. The CNC detects that the shape program ended before all required drawing dimension data was specified, leaving the cycle definition incomplete.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Review the program at the alarm occurrence point. Press RESET, then navigate to PROGRAM > display the active program and locate the G70, G71, G72, or G73 cycle and its associated shape definition blocks.

  2. 2

Examine the last block of the shape program (before the cycle call). Verify all required arguments for direct drawing dimension input are present: X, Z, I, K, R values as appropriate for the commanded shape element (line, arc, chamfer, or radius).

  3. 3

Ensure the shape program is properly closed with a complete geometry command. Add missing dimension data or remove the incomplete block. For G70-G73 cycles, the shape must end with a valid endpoint definition.

  4. 4

Verify parameter 3405 bit 4 (DWG) is set to 1 if using direct drawing dimension input. Navigate to SYSTEM > PARAM > search for parameter 3405 and confirm bit 4 = 1 for drawing dimension mode.

Changing parameter 3405 requires parameter write enable (PWE) switch ON and CNC restart after modification.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·Parameter corruption suspected
  • ·Multiple related alarms persist
  • ·Program structure appears correct but alarm continues

Prevention

  • Always use program check function before running shape programs
  • Maintain consistent block termination throughout programs
  • Avoid mixing dimensional and control commands in single blocks
  • Regular backup of working programs before modifications

Common Mistakes

  • Forgetting semicolons in shape program blocks
  • Adding dimensional commands to cycle termination blocks
  • Copying incomplete program segments
  • Not verifying program syntax after edits
