Fanuc Alarm 325 - UNAVAILABLE COMMAND IN SHAPE PROGRAM

SYSTEM ALARM

Fanuc alarm 325: SYSTEM ALARM. This alarm indicates a fault condition detected by the Fanuc control. Refer to the alarm number and name to identify the specific system or function involved.

Root Cause Summary

FANUC Alarm 325 occurs when the CNC detects an incompatible or restricted G-code, M-code, or axis command within a shape program (subprogram) called by a multiple repetitive canned cycle such as G70-G76 (turning cycles) or G71-G73 (roughing/finishing cycles). The shape program must contain only specific tool path geometry commands; forbidden commands include tool changes, coordinate system changes, spindle commands, or other canned cycles.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Review the NC program and identify the sequence number referenced in the alarm. Locate the shape program (subprogram) called by the multiple repetitive cycle (G70-G76 for turning, G71-G73 for milling).

  2. 2

Examine the shape program line-by-line for prohibited commands: M-codes (especially M00-M09, M98/M99), T-codes with offset changes, G04 dwell, G10 programmable data setting, G50/G92 coordinate system setting, G54-G59 work coordinate selection, or any canned cycles (G70-G89).

  3. 3

Remove all prohibited commands from the shape program. Move spindle, coolant, and tool change commands to the main program before the repetitive cycle call. Ensure the shape program contains only G00, G01, G02, G03 motion commands defining the finishing geometry.

Do not include feedrate changes (F-code) that drastically differ from the cycle's programmed feedrate, as some controllers restrict this.

  4. 4

Verify parameter 5101 bit 0 (OGC) and parameter 5102 settings for G-code system compatibility. Check parameter 14880-14889 (multiple repetitive cycle settings) to confirm shape program restrictions for your specific FANUC series and software version.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·Parameter 3404 (repetitive cycle parameters) corruption
  • ·Persistent alarm after program corrections
  • ·Shape program memory allocation errors

Prevention

  • Keep shape programs simple with only basic motion commands (G00, G01, G02, G03)
  • Establish all coordinate systems and tool compensation in main program
  • Use program verification before running repetitive cycles

Common Mistakes

  • Including M06 tool changes in shape programs
  • Using absolute positioning (G53) within repetitive cycles
  • Calling subprograms from within shape programs
