Siemens 840D 75610 - Channel RESU: NC start currently not possible

Channel RESU: NC start currently not possible

Siemens SINUMERIK alarm 75610: Channel RESU: NC start currently not possible. This alarm indicates a fault or error condition on the SINUMERIK 840D control. Refer to the Siemens SINUMERIK alarm documentation for the complete description and remedy.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 75610 occurs when an NC START command is issued during RESU (Resume) active state while the system is in a return-to-zero (RTP) operation or other restricted conditions. The SINUMERIK 840D blocks NC START to prevent program execution conflicts that would corrupt axis positions and machine state during automatic return traveling sequences.

Safety

  • Refer to Siemens documentation
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

In the Siemens HMI, navigate to Diagnostics → Channel Status → RESU State to verify if RESU is still active and check the RTP (Return to Reference Point) status for the affected channel.

  2. 2

Wait for automatic return traveling to complete. Monitor the axis positions in Diagnostics → Axis Status until all axes have reached their reference positions (compare actual position to MD 30350 'CfgReturnParam[].RefPoint').

Do not force NC START during RTP execution as this will trigger 75610 repeatedly.

  3. 3

Once RTP completes, press RESU again to deactivate RESU mode, then attempt NC START. Verify RESU indicator is off in the HMI operator panel before proceeding.

  4. 4

If RTP appears stuck, check MD 30330 'RapidTravers' and MD 30320 'DynLimitParam' parameters to ensure return traveling velocity settings are valid and not zero.
