Siemens 75070 - MCSC: wrong machine data for collision protection axis

MCSC: wrong machine data for collision protection axis

Incorrect machine data for collision protection Control reaction: Interpreter stop Alarm display.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 75070 fires when the NCK detects inconsistent or missing machine data configuration for the collision protection axis referenced in channel %2. This typically occurs when MD numbers defining axis soft limits, monitoring boundaries, or collision detection parameters are not properly synchronized or contain invalid values that prevent the safety monitoring function from operating correctly.

Safety

  • Only qualified personnel should diagnose and clear control alarms; follow the machine builder's safety procedures and lockout/tagout where hardware work is required.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Navigate to Siemens HMI > Diagnosis > Machine Data > search for MD 36010 and MD 36020 for the affected axis %2. Verify min limit < max limit with realistic physical boundaries.

Do not set soft limits beyond actual machine travel without geometry verification

  2. 2

If MDs are empty or zero, enter physically measured axis travel limits. Example: X-axis with 500mm travel should have MD 36010 = 0 and MD 36020 = 500 (in mm or inches per MD 20050).

  3. 3

Cross-reference with MD 32000 (axis type) to confirm the axis is defined as linear (1) or rotary (0) - collision protection requires correct axis classification.
