Siemens 840D 61325 - Channel Block: Check measuring axis/auxiliary measuring axis
Alarm 61325 is triggered when a measuring cycle (except CYCLE979) references an invalid or incorrectly configured measuring axis via the _MA parameter. This occurs when the specified measuring axis does not exist in the NCK axis configuration, is not properly initialized, or contains an incompatible parameter assignment in the machine data.

Channel Block: Check measuring axis/auxiliary measuring axis
Siemens SINUMERIK alarm 61325: Channel Block: Check measuring axis/auxiliary measuring axis. This alarm indicates a fault or error condition on the SINUMERIK 840D control. Refer to the Siemens SINUMERIK alarm documentation for the complete description and remedy.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 61325 is triggered when a measuring cycle (except CYCLE979) references an invalid or incorrectly configured measuring axis via the _MA parameter. This occurs when the specified measuring axis does not exist in the NCK axis configuration, is not properly initialized, or contains an incompatible parameter assignment in the machine data.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Open Siemens HMI Diagnostics > System Information > Axis List to verify all configured axes. Compare against the _MA parameter value in your measuring cycle call.
Ensure you are viewing the NCK configuration, not the PLC axis mapping layer.
Check MD10100 (axis/spindle general data) for each physical axis. Verify that the axis name in _MA matches exactly (case-sensitive) an entry configured in this parameter list.
Typos or whitespace differences (e.g., ' Z' vs 'Z') will cause the axis lookup to fail.
If the axis is new or was renamed, verify MD10110 (axis/spindle type) and MD10120 (interpolation mode) are set correctly for that axis. Restart NCK and retry the measuring cycle.
In Siemens program, explicitly pass a valid axis identifier to _MA (e.g., _MA='Z' or _MA=AX_Z depending on your machine parameter naming convention).
