Siemens 300604 - Axis drive motor encoder is not adjusted
This alarm occurs when the motor encoder's serial number does not match the active encoder data, indicating the encoder may not be properly adjusted or started with the motor. Correcting the encoder setup or program data resolves the issue.
Siemens 300604 - Axis drive motor encoder is not adjusted
Axis drive motor encoder is not adjusted
The stored serial number of the encoder on a linear motor encoder with an EnDat interface does not match the number of the active encoder. It is therefore assumed that the encoder has not been started up with the motor in question before or has not been adapted to the motor Control reaction: Mode group not ready. The NC switches to follow-up mode. Channel not ready. NC Start disable in this channel. Interface signals are set. Alarm display. NC Stop on alarm. Channel not ready.
Root Cause Summary
This alarm occurs when the motor encoder's serial number does not match the active encoder data, indicating the encoder may not be properly adjusted or started with the motor. Correcting the encoder setup or program data resolves the issue.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
SAFETY: Power down and lockout
Follow LOTO procedures. Power down the machine and ensure all energy sources are isolated before accessing drive configuration.
Check alarm details
Note the axis and drive number in the alarm message to identify the affected component.
Verify encoder setup
Access the drive configuration in the control and ensure the encoder data matches the motor. Check encoder serial number and parameter settings.
Restart system safely
Clear the alarm, restore power following proper startup procedures, and test at reduced speed initially.
