Root Cause Summary

Alarm 10223 occurs when a modal G-code or command is programmed multiple times in the same NC block, creating a conflict. The SINUMERIK control cannot execute contradictory or duplicate commands simultaneously within a single block. This is typically caused by programming errors, macro expansions, or cycle definitions that generate conflicting commands.

Safety

  • Only qualified personnel should diagnose and clear control alarms; follow the machine builder's safety procedures and lockout/tagout where hardware work is required.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Note the channel number (%1) and command (%2) displayed in the alarm message to identify the conflicting command.

  2. 2

Press the alarm softkey and review the NC program line number where the alarm occurred. Examine the complete NC block for duplicate or conflicting G-codes.

  3. 3

Check for commands from the same modal group (motion G-codes: G00/G01/G02/G03, plane selection: G17/G18/G19, coordinate systems: G54-G59, etc.) appearing multiple times in the block.

  4. 4

Remove the duplicate or conflicting command from the NC block, keeping only the intended command. Reset the alarm and restart the program.
