KUKA Robot KRC1039 - <object name> OVERWRITE ?

<object name> OVERWRITE ?

A file copy or project transfer operation cannot proceed because the destination file already exists in the target directory. The system requires user confirmation before overwriting existing files to prevent accidental loss of program data.

Common Causes

  • Program file with identical name already exists in destination folder from previous program download
  • WorkVisual project synchronization attempting to copy files that were previously transferred without deletion
  • Multiple robot program backup versions stored in same directory with naming conflicts
  • Team member uploaded same program file twice without checking for existing copies in shared project folder
  • KRC4 teach pendant file manager displaying outdated directory listing not reflecting recent file deletions

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the alarm message dialog box to identify the specific filename and destination path mentioned in the warning
  2. 2Open file manager on the KRC4 control system or WorkVisual project browser and verify the conflicting filename exists
  3. 3Decide whether existing file should be retained or replaced based on program version control documentation
  4. 4Select overwrite option in the alarm dialog if new program version is confirmed as current, or cancel and rename source file
  5. 5Delete outdated file from destination directory manually using teach pendant file management menu before retry
  6. 6Implement consistent program naming convention with version numbers or timestamps to eliminate future file naming conflicts
