KUKA Robot KRC0872 - NAME NOT DECLARED AS CHANNEL 2208

NAME NOT DECLARED AS CHANNEL 2208

A KRL program object (variable, function, or module) referenced in the code has not been properly declared as a CHANNEL type. This prevents the system from establishing communication or data exchange with the specified object. The compiler cannot resolve the channel declaration, causing the program to fail validation.

Common Causes

  • Object @P1@ is used as a channel but was declared as a different data type (INT, REAL, BOOL, etc.)
  • Missing CHANNEL keyword in the variable declaration statement
  • Object @P1@ is referenced before it is declared in the program
  • Incorrect syntax in channel declaration or missing channel configuration parameters
  • Object name mismatch between declaration and usage in the KRL source code

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Locate the object @P1@ in your KRL program and verify its declaration statement
  2. 2Confirm the object is explicitly declared with the CHANNEL keyword if it is used as a channel
  3. 3Check that the declaration appears before any reference or usage of the object in the code
  4. 4Review the channel declaration syntax against KUKA KRL documentation for correct format and parameters
  5. 5Verify there are no typos or spelling differences between the declaration and all usage instances of @P1@
  6. 6Recompile the program after corrections and verify the alarm code 2208 no longer appears in the diagnostics
