KRC0653

KUKA Robot KRC0653 - InterBus : bus error <segment, position>

InterBus : bus error <segment, position>

This alarm signals a communication error or transmission failure on the Interbus fieldbus network at the specified segment and position. The InterBus system failed to send or receive data properly, indicating a hardware or configuration problem.

Common Causes

  • Physical cable damage, loose connectors, or poor contact at the InterBus terminal connection
  • Interbus termination resistor is missing, disconnected, or incorrectly installed at segment end
  • Device at the specified position has failed, lost power, or is not responding to bus communication
  • InterBus configuration in WorkVisual does not match the actual hardware topology or device addresses
  • Electromagnetic interference affecting signal integrity on the InterBus network segments

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Visually inspect all InterBus cables and connectors at the affected segment and position for damage or loose connections
  2. 2Verify that the termination resistor is properly installed at the final device in the InterBus segment chain
  3. 3Power cycle the affected InterBus device or node at the specified position to restore communication
  4. 4Use WorkVisual to validate the InterBus topology configuration matches the actual hardware setup
  5. 5Check for sources of electromagnetic interference near InterBus cables and move them away if necessary
  6. 6If the alarm persists, contact KUKA service for InterBus diagnostic tools and further hardware verification
