KUKA Robot KRC0521 - Transformation not configured

Transformation not configured

This alarm occurs when a program attempts to assign values to the $BASE or $TOOL system variables without having the corresponding coordinate frame transformation configured in the robot controller. The KRC controller requires that any BASE or TOOL frame reference must first be defined in the transformation database before it can be accessed or modified during program execution.

Common Causes

  • Transformation frame referenced in program does not exist in the transformation table
  • BASE or TOOL variable assignment attempted before transformation initialization
  • Incorrect or misspelled transformation frame name in the program code
  • Transformation configuration file not loaded or corrupted during controller startup
  • Program uses dynamic BASE/TOOL assignment without first creating the transformation entry

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify that the referenced BASE or TOOL transformation exists in the KUKA transformation database using the Teaching Pendant or WorkVisual
  2. 2Check the program code for the exact spelling and syntax of the BASE/TOOL variable assignment statements
  3. 3Confirm that all required transformation files are present and properly loaded in the controller's non-volatile memory
  4. 4Create the missing transformation frame using WorkVisual or the robot's configuration interface if it does not exist
  5. 5Review the program logic to ensure BASE/TOOL assignments occur after all necessary transformations have been initialized
  6. 6Reload the transformation configuration and restart the robot controller to ensure changes take effect
