KUKA Robot KRC0473 - Select startup

Select startup

This alarm indicates that a command has been executed that is restricted to startup mode operation only. The KRC controller is currently in a different operating mode (such as run, auto, or manual) where this particular command is not permitted. This safety mechanism prevents unauthorized or unintended execution of startup-specific operations during normal robot operation.

Common Causes

  • Attempting to execute a startup command while the robot is in AUTO or RUN mode
  • Executing initialization or configuration commands during active program execution
  • Improper mode transition without completing required startup procedures
  • User program contains startup-only commands that should be executed only during system initialization
  • Incorrect sequence of operations in the control logic or teach pendant input

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Switch the KRC controller to STARTUP mode using the mode selector switch or pendant interface
  2. 2Verify the operating mode indicator on the teach pendant and KRC display panel shows STARTUP status
  3. 3Review the command sequence in the active program or user input to identify which startup-specific command triggered the alarm
  4. 4Consult the KUKA KRC programming manual to confirm which commands are restricted to startup mode only
  5. 5Execute the problematic command again after confirming the controller is in proper STARTUP mode
  6. 6If the alarm persists, check for software conflicts or perform a controlled shutdown and restart of the KRC system
