KRC0472

KUKA Robot KRC0472 - Control structure next block <block number>

Control structure next block <block number>

This alarm occurs when the KRC controller attempts to execute a program jump or branch into the middle of a control structure (such as IF/ELSE, FOR loop, WHILE loop, or SWITCH statement) rather than entering at the proper entry point. The controller detects an invalid selection point within a structured block that would result in undefined program flow or skipped initialization code.

Common Causes

  • GOTO or jump statement targeting a line number inside a control structure block instead of before it
  • Incorrect logic in conditional branching that attempts to jump into nested IF/ELSE statements
  • Program structure with improperly placed labels within loop or conditional blocks
  • SRC file syntax error where control flow logic violates KUKA KRL structured programming rules
  • Attempt to resume program execution from a breakpoint located inside a control structure rather than at a valid entry point

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the program source code and locate the jump/branch instruction that triggered the alarm, noting the target block number
  2. 2Verify that all GOTO statements and conditional branches target valid entry points outside or at the beginning of control structures
  3. 3Restructure program logic to ensure jumps bypass entire control blocks rather than entering mid-structure; use proper IF/ELSE nesting instead of GOTO when possible
  4. 4Check that all labels are positioned at appropriate locations outside of loops and conditional statements
  5. 5Validate program syntax using the KRC IDE or KUKA.Sim offline programming environment to identify structural violations
  6. 6Recompile the SRC file and test execution; if resuming from a saved position, ensure the restart point is at a valid program entry location
