KUKA Robot KRC0469 - Check rcp selector switch

Check rcp selector switch

This alarm is triggered when attempting to select or start a program from a remote operator control unit (such as an external teach pendant or control interface) while the selector switch on the RCP (Remote Control Panel) is not positioned to RUN. The KRC4 controller enforces this safety requirement to prevent unintended robot motion from secondary control sources.

Common Causes

  • RCP selector switch physically stuck in TEACH or MANUAL position due to mechanical wear or debris
  • Operator attempted to start program via external interface without first setting the physical RCP switch to RUN
  • RCP selector switch wired incorrectly or not properly connected to the KRC4 controller safety circuit
  • Multiple operator control units present and wrong RCP unit was configured as the active control source
  • SafeOperation system logic requires RCP switch confirmation but the signal feedback is not being registered

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Physically locate the RCP selector switch on the remote control panel and verify its current position
  2. 2Move the RCP selector switch to the RUN position and wait for the controller to acknowledge the status change
  3. 3Check that the correct RCP unit is selected as the active operator control unit in the controller configuration
  4. 4Inspect the RCP selector switch for mechanical damage, corrosion, or loose connections that prevent proper operation
  5. 5In WorkVisual, verify the RCP hardware configuration and safety circuit assignments match the physical installation
  6. 6If the switch appears damaged or will not stay in RUN position, replace the RCP selector switch assembly and recalibrate the safety inputs
