KRC0417

KUKA Robot KRC0417 - Robot system is not available

Robot system is not available

This alarm indicates that a secondary robot system (R2) has been referenced in the program or configuration, but it has not been properly activated in the machine data. The KRC controller cannot access the second robot system because the $HOME variable is not correctly configured to point to the R2 system directory.

Common Causes

  • Machine data file missing or incomplete $HOME = "/R2" configuration entry
  • Second robot system not initialized during controller startup or system configuration
  • Incorrect path syntax in the $HOME variable definition for the secondary system
  • Program or task attempting to access R2 without the second system being enabled in the controller's system data
  • Multi-robot system configuration incomplete or not properly loaded after controller power cycle

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Verify that the second robot system (R2) is physically connected and properly wired to the KRC controller
  2. 2Access the machine data editor and confirm that $HOME = "/R2" is correctly defined in the appropriate configuration file
  3. 3Check the system startup sequence to ensure both robot systems are initialized; restart the controller if necessary
  4. 4Review the active program or task to identify which command is referencing the R2 system and confirm it is required
  5. 5If R2 system is not needed, remove or comment out all references to the second robot system in the program
  6. 6If R2 system is needed, contact KUKA support or your integrator to properly configure and activate the multi-robot system in the machine data
