KUKA Robot KRC0414 - REFERENCE SYSTEM DEFINITION NOT COMPLETE

REFERENCE SYSTEM DEFINITION NOT COMPLETE

At least one required frame definition is missing for calculating the reference matrix used in manual motion or automatic motion sequences. The system cannot establish the geometric relationship between coordinate systems needed for kinematic calculations without all mandatory frame definitions.

Common Causes

  • Tool frame has not been defined or calibrated in the robot configuration
  • Base frame or mounting frame coordinates are missing from the system setup parameters
  • Workpiece frame definition is incomplete or contains undefined reference points required for motion calculation
  • Manual motion reference frame was deleted or cleared without being replaced with an alternative frame definition
  • Automatic process requires a frame that was not included during system commissioning or was accidentally removed

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Access the Frames menu in the KUKA smartPAD and verify all required frames are present and fully defined
  2. 2Perform tool frame calibration using the standard KUKA three-point or manual entry method if the Tool frame is missing
  3. 3Define the Base frame by entering the correct coordinates relative to the robots mechanical base in the configuration
  4. 4Check the program code to identify which specific frame is required for the current motion operation
  5. 5Use WorkVisual to review and restore missing frame definitions from the backed-up configuration database
  6. 6Reinitialize all system frames through the Calibration menu and redefine each required frame according to machine documentation
