KUKA Robot KRC0405 - Line selection not possible: too many Interrupts

Line selection not possible: too many Interrupts

An attempt to perform line selection in a local subprogram has failed because the subprogram is not present in the current caller stack. Additionally, the maximum number of allowed interrupt declarations or activations has been exceeded on the KRC4 system.

Common Causes

  • Attempting to select program blocks in interrupt routines that are not active in the execution call hierarchy
  • Declaring more interrupt handlers than the system can simultaneously manage during program execution
  • Activating multiple interrupts through INTERRUPT ON commands that exceed the system limit
  • Trying to execute block selection in a subprogram called from a different context than the calling program
  • Complex nested interrupt structures with multiple levels of subroutines exceeding interrupt stack capacity

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Review the program call stack in the KUKA smartPAD debugger to identify which subprograms are currently active
  2. 2Count the total number of INTERRUPT ON declarations in the main program and all called subprograms
  3. 3Reduce the number of active interrupts by consolidating related interrupt handlers or using conditional activation
  4. 4Ensure block selection is only performed on programs that are currently executing in the active call hierarchy
  5. 5Restructure interrupt logic to activate interrupts only when required rather than maintaining constant declarations
  6. 6Test the modified program with the KUKA smartPAD stepping functionality to verify proper interrupt behavior
