KUKA Robot KRC0309 - COUPLE PROCESS ACTIVE

COUPLE PROCESS ACTIVE

This alarm indicates that a coupling process is currently active on the KUKA KRC controller, typically during tool or payload coupling/decoupling operations. The controller has detected an ongoing coupling procedure and is restricting certain operations until the process completes or is explicitly terminated. This is a status alarm that prevents conflicting commands from being executed while coupling is in progress.

Common Causes

  • Tool coupling procedure initiated but not completed
  • Payload coupling/decoupling operation in progress
  • Coupling timeout or interrupted coupling sequence
  • User attempted to execute motion commands during active coupling process
  • Coupling signal from external device still active or stuck in enabled state

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Allow the active coupling process to complete its full cycle without interruption
  2. 2If coupling appears stuck, manually verify the coupling mechanism is fully seated and properly aligned
  3. 3Check the coupling signal input from the external coupling device to ensure it is not continuously held active
  4. 4Review the teach pendant or KRC control panel for coupling status indicators and completion confirmation
  5. 5If necessary, use the coupling abort or reset function in the Coupling menu to force terminate the active process
  6. 6After resolution, perform a program restart and verify tool/payload coupling status before resuming normal robot operation
