<axis> DECOUPLED AUXILIARY AXIS, MASTERING NOT PERMITTED 1170 1171 1172 1173 1174 1175

An auxiliary axis has become decoupled from the robot system and cannot be re-mastered in its current state. This alarm prevents mastering operations on auxiliary axes (numbered 1170-1175) that have lost their synchronization with the main controller.

Common Causes

  • Auxiliary axis encoder or feedback cable disconnected or damaged
  • Auxiliary axis servo drive communication failure or loss of signal
  • Mechanical coupling between auxiliary axis and robot arm has slipped or failed
  • Power loss or emergency stop occurred while auxiliary axis was in motion
  • Auxiliary axis configuration mismatch in robot control system memory

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Check physical connections of auxiliary axis encoder cables and servo connectors for loose or damaged connectors
  2. 2Verify auxiliary axis servo drive is powered on and displaying normal operational status lights
  3. 3Inspect mechanical coupling, gearbox, and mounting hardware of the affected auxiliary axis for slippage or damage
  4. 4Power cycle the entire robot system and attempt automatic mastering procedure through teach pendant
  5. 5Use diagnostics menu to verify auxiliary axis is properly recognized in system configuration and address mapping
  6. 6If alarm persists, perform manual re-referencing of auxiliary axis using calibration procedures specific to axis type (1170-1175), or contact KUKA service
