KUKA Robot KRC0231 - Ackn. second motorcable not connected

Ackn. second motorcable not connected

This alarm indicates that the second motor cable connection to the robot axis motor has not been properly detected or established during the controller's initialization sequence. The KUKA KRC controller performs a cable connection verification check and has determined that the secondary motor cable is either physically disconnected, not fully seated in its connector, or has failed continuity testing.

Common Causes

  • Second motor cable not fully inserted into the connector socket
  • Damaged or bent connector pins on the motor cable or controller interface
  • Loose or corroded electrical contacts due to environmental exposure or oxidation
  • Faulty motor cable with internal wire breakage or insulation damage
  • Incorrect cable routed to wrong axis motor or controller port

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Power down the KRC controller completely and wait 30 seconds before proceeding
  2. 2Visually inspect the second motor cable connector for physical damage, corrosion, or misalignment
  3. 3Disconnect and reconnect the second motor cable firmly to ensure proper seating in both the motor and controller connectors
  4. 4Check the connector pins for debris, bent contacts, or oxidation and clean with compressed air if necessary
  5. 5Verify correct cable routing and that the cable is connected to the correct axis motor and KRC controller port
  6. 6If the alarm persists after reconnection, power on the controller and observe if the alarm clears during the initialization sequence; if not, replace the motor cable with a new KUKA-certified component
