KUKA Robot KRC0065 - Ixt servo drive exceed value

Ixt servo drive exceed value

An Ixt thermal monitoring alarm has been triggered on a servo drive because the integrated thermal time constant has exceeded the defined warning threshold percentage. If the value reaches 100 percent, the servo drive will be deactivated and the robot motion halted to prevent thermal damage.

Common Causes

  • Sustained high motor current over extended periods without adequate cooling intervals
  • Ambient temperature elevation above design operating range reducing motor cooling capacity
  • Servo drive fan or cooling system malfunction preventing proper thermal dissipation
  • Continuous high-load motion sequences without programmed dwell or cycle rest periods
  • Servo drive tuning parameters set too aggressively causing excessive current spikes and heating

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Check the current alarm percentage value and review the alarm history log in the KRC4 controller to identify trending patterns
  2. 2Measure the ambient room temperature around the robot cabinet and verify it is within the design specification range
  3. 3Inspect the servo drive cooling fan for obstructions, bearing noise, or visible damage and clean intake and exhaust filters
  4. 4Reduce the motion velocity and acceleration parameters in the active KRL program to lower average current and thermal load
  5. 5Implement mandatory rest periods or reduced-load intermediate cycles within the robot program using WAIT or PAUSE commands
  6. 6If the alarm persists after load reduction, power cycle the robot and monitor the Ixt value during next operation or replace the affected servo drive
