600-02EB

HEIDENHAIN 600-02EB - No tool found. Please check tool tip angle.

No tool found. Please check tool tip angle.

No suitable tool was found for the automatic workpiece generation. This may be due to incorrect tool geometry parameters or unsuitable tool types.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 600-02EB occurs when the Automatic Workpiece Gauging (AWG) optimization routine cannot find any suitable tools in the tool table due to incompatible tool tip angles or geometry parameters. The AWG system evaluates all available tools against the workpiece geometry and rejects tools that don't meet the required angular constraints for collision-free machining.

Safety

  • Refer to Heidenhain service manual
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

    Access tool table

Press TOOL TABLE key and navigate to the affected tool number shown in %1 parameter of the alarm message.

  2. 2

    Verify tool tip angle parameters

Check columns ANGLE1 and ANGLE2 in the tool table. For turning tools, verify these match the actual tool geometry (typically 90-95° for standard tools).

Use a tool presetter or measure the actual tool angles with a protractor if uncertain about the geometry.

  3. 3

    Correct tool geometry values

Enter the correct tool tip angles based on the actual tool geometry. Ensure values are within the AWG acceptable range for your workpiece configuration.

  4. 4

Update tool length and radius compensation

Verify LENGTH and RADIUS columns contain accurate values that correspond to the corrected tool tip geometry.

Incorrect compensation values can cause crashes even with correct tip angles.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·AWG parameters require modification beyond operator access level
  • ·Persistent alarm after verifying all tool and geometry data
  • ·Suspected TNC software corruption affecting AWG functionality

Prevention

  • Maintain accurate tool geometry data in tool table
  • Regularly verify AWG workpiece definitions match actual part geometry
  • Keep tool status updated and remove expired tool life flags promptly
  • Document working AWG parameter sets for different workpiece types

Common Mistakes

  • Assuming all tools with same nominal angle have identical tip geometry
  • Forgetting to update tool table after tool changes or regrinding
  • Setting AWG tolerances too tight for available tooling
  • Not considering tool holder geometry in tip angle calculations
