2A0-00DD

HEIDENHAIN 2A0-00DD - Faulty assignment of tool/cut no.

Faulty assignment of tool/cut no.

AFC cut number assignment to current tool is incorrect in the AFC settings.

Root Cause Summary

This alarm is fundamentally a tool management data integrity issue specific to Heidenhain's tool table structure. The control cannot match the tool number and cutting edge index combination specified in the NC program with valid entries in the tool management tables. This typically results from incomplete tool table programming, exceeding defined cutting edge counts, or database corruption.

Safety

  • Refer to Heidenhain service manual
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

    Identify the missing tool number

Note the tool number from the alarm message or the NC program line where execution stopped (displayed in the status bar or error details).

Press the 'Error Message' softkey to view detailed information including the exact tool number and line number that triggered the alarm.

  2. 2

    Access the tool table

Press MOD key, select 'Tool Table' and open TOOL.T to view all defined tools. Search for the tool number in question using the search function (softkey 'Search').

Use the column sort function to order by tool number (T) to quickly identify gaps in your tool numbering sequence.

  3. 3

    Add missing tool entry

If the tool is missing, add a new row by pressing the 'Insert Line' softkey, enter the tool number (T column), tool name, and define at least one cutting edge with radius (R), length (L), and other required geometric data.

Ensure you define all cutting edges (typically CUT 1 minimum) with complete data, as incomplete entries can trigger related alarms.

  4. 4

    Save and exit tool table

Press END key to save changes and exit the tool table. The control will automatically update the tool management database.

After adding tools, perform a 'Test Tool Table' function if available in your TNC version to verify data integrity.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·Memory diagnostic reveals hardware failure
  • ·Parameter corruption persists after multiple restoration attempts
  • ·AFC hardware components show physical damage

Prevention

  • Regular backup of tool management data
  • Implement parameter change documentation procedures
  • Periodic verification of tool/cut assignments
  • Use TNC's data integrity checking features

Common Mistakes

  • Manually editing tool table without understanding cut number sequences
  • Copying tool data between machines with different AFC configurations
  • Ignoring parameter backup before making changes
  • Assuming cut numbers can be arbitrary values
