HEIDENHAIN 236-A005 - ProfiNet: Assignment of drives incorrectly configured
This alarm is triggered when the TNC control's expected drive assignment configuration (defined in machine parameters) does not match the actual ProfiNet network topology or the drive addressing scheme detected during network initialization. This typically occurs after hardware changes, network reconfiguration, or when machine parameters are not synchronized with the physical ProfiNet device setup.
HEIDENHAIN 236-A005 - ProfiNet: Assignment of drives incorrectly configured
ProfiNet: Assignment of drives incorrectly configured
The ProfiNet drive assignment is incorrectly configured. The TNC cannot match drives on the ProfiNet network with the axes it manages.
Root Cause Summary
This alarm is triggered when the TNC control's expected drive assignment configuration (defined in machine parameters) does not match the actual ProfiNet network topology or the drive addressing scheme detected during network initialization. This typically occurs after hardware changes, network reconfiguration, or when machine parameters are not synchronized with the physical ProfiNet device setup.

Causes and Fixes
Access ProfiNet Address Parameters
Enter MOD mode, navigate to machine parameters, and locate MP102xxx series (CfgAxisSscNetAdr). Document the configured station address for each axis (typically MP102000 for X-axis, MP102100 for Y-axis, etc.).
Write down all configured addresses before making changes - you may need to reference the original configuration if troubleshooting goes deeper.
Verify Physical Drive Addresses
Check the actual ProfiNet station addresses on each drive using the drive's display panel or rotary address switches. For UM 1x8 or Excilon drives, verify addresses match the Heidenhain documentation for your specific inverter configuration.
Do not change drive addresses while power is applied to the drives. Always disconnect 24VDC control voltage before adjusting address switches.
Check ProfiNet Diagnostics
Navigate to Setup > ProfiNet > Device Status on the TNC screen. Verify all drives appear in the device list with correct station addresses and that their status shows 'Ready' or 'Operational' rather than 'Missing' or 'Configuration Mismatch'.
The device list will show both expected and actual devices - look for any red status indicators or devices marked as 'Not Found'.
Correct Address Mapping
Update the CfgAxisSscNetAdr parameters to match the actual physical drive addresses. Enter the correct station address for each axis in the corresponding MP102xxx parameter, then save parameters and reboot the control.
Ensure you update the correct axis parameters - mismatched axis-to-drive assignments can cause dangerous unexpected machine motion.
