HEIDENHAIN 231-E00A - E00A Safe machine param. error

E00A Safe machine param. error

This TNC7/TNC 640 system error indicates Incorrect CRC checksum found and transferred over SG parameter memory. The control has detected an abnormal state that requires attention.

Root Cause Summary

This alarm is triggered by the control's internal safety monitoring system detecting that the safe machine parameters fail integrity checks, are corrupted, or are incompatible with the current system configuration. Because these parameters are critical to Functional Safety operation, the control immediately generates this alarm to prevent unsafe machine operation until the safety parameter integrity is restored and validated.

Safety

  • Refer to Heidenhain service manual
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

    Power cycle the control

Perform a complete power down (not just NC restart) and power up to force the control to reload all safe machine parameters from storage. Observe whether the alarm appears immediately or only under certain conditions.

  2. 2

    Access system file directory

Press MOD key, enter password if required, navigate to the file manager, and browse to TNC:\system\ directory. Locate safemc.par file and check file size and modification date for anomalies (zero-byte file indicates corruption).

Compare file size and date with your commissioning documentation or backup files to identify unexpected changes.

  3. 3

    Restore from backup

If you have a verified backup of the safe machine parameters (typically stored in TNC:\system\backup\ or external archive), copy the known-good safemc.par file back to TNC:\system\ directory, then perform a full power cycle.

Only restore safety parameter backups that were created for this specific machine configuration. Using parameters from different machines can create unsafe conditions.

  4. 4

    Verify FS module communication

Navigate to MOD → System Information → CC Configuration to verify that the CC (Control Component) modules responsible for Functional Safety are communicating properly and showing correct firmware versions.

Communication errors with the FS module can also corrupt parameter loading, so verify all green status indicators for safety-related components.

Service Recommendedmedium confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·Memory hardware failure confirmed
  • ·Software update required
  • ·Safety parameter corruption
  • ·Communication hardware defects

Prevention

  • Regular parameter backups
  • Scheduled communication system checks
  • Proper EMI shielding maintenance
  • Temperature monitoring

Common Mistakes

  • Modifying safety parameters without authorization
  • Ignoring communication error logs
  • Mixing incompatible software versions
  • Inadequate backup procedures
