HEIDENHAIN 1A0-0139 - CMO is not in the current kinematic description

CMO is not in the current kinematic description

The control could not locate the requested Collision Monitored Object in the currently active kinematics. Activating or deactivating this CMO is therefore not possible.

Root Cause Summary

The alarm indicates a configuration mismatch where collision monitoring is attempting to track or evaluate a CMO (Collision Monitoring Object) that does not exist in the currently loaded kinematic description. This typically occurs after kinematic changes, configuration switches, or when programs developed for different machine setups are executed without updating the corresponding kinematic model.

Safety

  • Refer to Heidenhain service manual
  • Ensure qualified technician performs repairs

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

    Identify active kinematic description

Press MOD key > Machine Configuration > Kinematic Configuration. Note the currently active kinematic description file name and path shown in the display.

The active kinematic file is typically shown with a highlighted indicator or checkbox. Write down the exact filename for comparison.

  2. 2

Review kinematic history and required configuration

Check if the NC program or setup documentation specifies a particular kinematic configuration. Compare this with the currently loaded configuration to identify mismatches.

Do not arbitrarily switch kinematic configurations without understanding machine geometry changes, as this affects all coordinate systems and safety zones.

  3. 3

    Load correct kinematic description

In MOD > Machine Configuration > Kinematic Configuration, select the appropriate kinematic description that contains the required CMO definitions. Confirm selection and perform a control restart if required.

Machine parameter MP7501 defines the default kinematic file loaded at startup. Verify this points to your standard configuration.

  4. 4

Verify CMO presence in loaded kinematic

Access the kinematic file (TNC:\system\Kinematic\*.kin or *.knd) and review the CMO section to confirm the required collision monitoring object is defined. Use KinematicsOpt software if available for graphical verification.

CMO objects are defined in the <CollisionObjects> section of the kinematic XML structure. Search for the specific CMO name reported in the alarm context.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·Machine parameter corruption suspected
  • ·Kinematic description requires modification
  • ·Multiple CMO files corrupted

Prevention

  • Always backup CMO definitions before kinematic changes
  • Maintain consistent naming conventions for CMOs
  • Regularly validate collision monitoring setup after software updates

Common Mistakes

  • Modifying kinematics without updating CMO assignments
  • Case-sensitive CMO name errors in NC programs
  • Deleting CMO files without removing program references
