Haas 214 - NO. OF PROGRAMS CHANGED | Haas CNC Alarm

NO. OF PROGRAMS CHANGED

This alarm indicates the control has detected a mismatch in the number of programs stored in memory compared to what the system expected during startup or memory integrity check. The MOCON board maintains a directory count of stored programs, and when this count does not match the actual programs found during scan, this alarm triggers. This is typically a sign of memory corruption, incomplete file transfer, or SRAM battery failure on the MOCON board.

Common Causes

  • SRAM battery on MOCON board is weak or depleted, causing memory directory corruption during power cycles
  • Program transfer was interrupted via RS-232 or USB causing incomplete write to program memory
  • MOCON board SRAM chip is failing or has developed bad memory sectors
  • Power surge or sudden power loss during program save or delete operation corrupted the program directory table
  • Background memory management process was interrupted during automatic memory defragmentation or optimization

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. 1Step 1: Press RESET to clear the alarm and check if program directory displays correctly in the control
  2. 2Step 2: Check SRAM battery voltage at the MOCON board - should read 3.0V or higher, replace if below 2.8V
  3. 3Step 3: Run a program directory check by pressing LIST PROG and verify the count matches what you expect to be in memory
  4. 4Step 4: Perform a soft memory reset using Setting 31 and Setting 33 backup/restore to rebuild the program directory
  5. 5Step 5: If alarm persists, perform full memory clear and reload all programs from backup source to rebuild directory structure
  6. 6Step 6: If alarm continues after memory clear and battery replacement, replace the MOCON board as SRAM chip has likely failed
