Fanuc SV0468 - Servo alarm: n axis fssb hrv3 error
SERVO ALARM: n AXIS FSSB HRV3 ERROR
Servo axis error condition detected. The servo system has detected an abnormal condition that prevents normal axis operation. This requires immediate attention to prevent mechanical damage.
Root Cause Summary
SV0468 indicates a communication error on the FSSB (Fiber Servo Serial Bus) high-speed serial link between the servo amplifier and motor with HRV3 protocol. This alarm typically occurs due to fiber optic cable damage, connector contamination, amplifier malfunction, or electromagnetic interference affecting the serial communication path.
Causes and Fixes
Power off the system and visually inspect the FSSB fiber optic cables on the affected axis for sharp bends, kinks, or visible damage to the orange fiber jacketing.
Do not look directly into fiber optic connectors while powered - laser light can damage eyes.
Disconnect FSSB fiber connectors at both the amplifier and control unit ends. Inspect connector ends for contamination, dust, or scratches using a fiber optic microscope or loupe.
Clean fiber optic connector ends using lint-free fiber cleaning swabs and isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry completely before reconnection.
Reconnect cables ensuring positive click engagement. Power up and test. If alarm persists, replace the FSSB fiber optic cable with a known good spare.
