Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Press SYSTEM > PROG > directory list to view all registered programs. Check total number of programs and individual file sizes. Press [OPRT] softkey then [MEMORY] to view total memory usage.

  2. 2

Navigate to SYSTEM > DIAGNOSIS > D900 (used memory size) and D901 (free memory size) to verify available capacity in bytes. If D901 shows less than 10KB, immediate deletion is required.

  3. 3

Delete unused programs via EDIT mode. Select program by O-number, press [OPRT] softkey, then [DELETE] then [ALL PROG] for multiple files. Alternatively, use O-9000 to O-9999 range cleanup for temporary programs.

Ensure backup of all critical programs to external device (CF card, USB, or network) before deletion. Verify with production personnel which programs are obsolete.

  4. 4

After deletion, perform memory defragmentation if available. On 30i/31i/32i series, execute SYSTEM > PMC > [MAINT] > [MEM DEFRAG] or power cycle the CNC to consolidate free memory blocks.
