Safety
Causes and Fixes
Navigate to program directory (EDIT > PROG or EDIT > DIR-P depending on control series). Locate the protected program number in the list.
Press OPRT or ATTR soft key to view program attributes. Check if write protection symbol (lock icon or 'P' indicator) is displayed next to program.
If protection is enabled, select the program and press PRCT (Protect) soft key or toggle attribute setting to disable write protection. May require parameter 3202.0 (Program Protection Enable) set to 0 or accessing via SYSTEM > PMC LADDER > PROTECT menu depending on control generation.
Ensure you have authorization to remove program protection. Some shops intentionally protect proven programs to prevent accidental modification.
If PRCT soft key is not available, check parameter 3202.0 and 3202.1. Set parameter 3202.0=0 to allow program protection changes. After removing protection, attempt edit or delete operation again.
