Fanuc Alarm PS022 - Missing Arc Radius

R OR I,J,K COMMAND NOT FOUND

Fanuc alarm PS022: R OR I,J,K COMMAND NOT FOUND. The part program or machine configuration has an error related to this alarm condition. Review the block indicated in the alarm screen and correct the command per the Fanuc programming manual.

Root Cause Summary

PS022 occurs when a circular interpolation command (G02/G03) is executed without proper arc definition parameters. The CNC requires either R (radius) or I/J/K (incremental center coordinates) values to calculate the circular path, and the absence of these values triggers this program error alarm.

Safety

  • Always define arc completely

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Review the alarmed program block shown on the CRT screen. Identify the G02 or G03 command and verify if R or I/J/K values are present in the same block or modal from previous blocks.

  2. 2

Edit the program block to include either R (radius value) for simple arcs, or I/J/K (incremental distances from arc start to center in X/Y/Z respectively) for more complex circular paths.

  3. 3

Verify parameter 3450 (G code system selection) to ensure correct circular interpolation format is being used. Bit settings affect whether IJK are incremental or absolute.

  4. 4

Reset the alarm using RESET key after correcting the program, then perform a dry run or single block execution to verify the corrected circular interpolation block.
