Fanuc 394 - Corner rounding parameter error
Alarm 394 occurs when the corner rounding (,R) parameter in a linear move command contains invalid values or conflicts with geometric constraints. This typically happens when the programmed radius exceeds the available corner distance, when the R value is negative or zero when it shouldn't be, or when corner rounding is applied to incompatible move types.
Fanuc 394 - Corner rounding parameter error
CORNER ROUNDING PARAMETER ERROR
Fanuc PS program alarm 394: CORNER ROUNDING PARAMETER ERROR. This alarm is triggered by an illegal or incorrectly formatted command in the part program, or a programming condition that the Fanuc control cannot execute.
Root Cause Summary
Alarm 394 occurs when the corner rounding (,R) parameter in a linear move command contains invalid values or conflicts with geometric constraints. This typically happens when the programmed radius exceeds the available corner distance, when the R value is negative or zero when it shouldn't be, or when corner rounding is applied to incompatible move types.
Safety
Causes and Fixes
Locate the alarming block number in the program and identify the G01 move with the ,R parameter.
Calculate the corner distance between the current move endpoint and the next move endpoint. The radius must be smaller than both leg distances from the theoretical sharp corner.
Reduce the ,R value to be less than the shortest available corner leg distance, typically 70-80% of the minimum corner dimension.
Re-run the program to verify the alarm is cleared and the corner executes properly.
