Fanuc Alarm 025 - CIRCLE CUT IN RAPID (F0)

SYSTEM ALARM 25

Fanuc alarm 025: SYSTEM ALARM 25. This alarm indicates a fault condition detected by the Fanuc control. Refer to the alarm number and name to identify the specific system or function involved.

Root Cause Summary

Alarm 025 occurs when the CNC detects a feedrate command of F0 (rapid traverse) during a circular interpolation block (G02 or G03). This is a programming error as circular moves require a controlled feedrate for proper arc generation and cannot execute at rapid traverse rate.

Causes and Fixes

  1. 1

Review the program block identified in the alarm display. Check for F0 specified in or before the G02/G03 block causing the alarm.

  2. 2

Verify that a valid feedrate (F__) is programmed in the circular interpolation block or in a preceding block in the same program mode. Check if feedrate was cancelled by a previous rapid move (G00).

  3. 3

Correct the program by adding an appropriate feedrate value (e.g., F500) before or within the G02/G03 block. Ensure feedrate units match Parameter 0000 bit 0 (metric/inch) settings.

  4. 4

Re-run the program from a safe position using single block mode (SINGLE BLOCK button ON) to verify the circular interpolation executes with proper feedrate.

DIY Feasiblehigh confidence

Call a technician if:

  • ·Parameter 1401 corruption
  • ·Modal display shows incorrect values
  • ·Alarm persists after program correction

Prevention

  • Always program F value with G02/G03 commands
  • Use program templates with proper modal initialization
  • Implement program verification procedures

Common Mistakes

  • Assuming F0 is valid for circular moves
  • Not checking modal feedrate status
  • Copying rapid move blocks for interpolation moves
